Christian Youth Development Camp... Rawalpindi, Pakistan

Amidst the religious and political tensions of Pakistan Robin Daud leads a group of Christians who are reaching out to the young people of the country. Calling themselves the Christian Youth Development Organization, Robin recently wrote:

"we, the believers, believe that prayers can change the impossible things into the possibilities. And we are working in a very hard environment. The conditions in Pakistan are getting worse day by day due to extremist groups. The other day thirty one Christian preachers were kidnapped from Peshawer, a city almost three hours drive away from Rawalpindi. The things are getting further tight for us, the Christians. But we know that people of the Lord are never afraid and He saves His people".

"There are very few organizations for Christians in Pakistan and out of those the majority has materialistic benefits behind their efforts. But by the grace of God our network is expanding with every passing day and week. We are a God-trusting people and we believe that that the same Lord, who is alive, will do for us in the days to come as He has in the past".

"Our first week of summer camp went successfully and there are five weeks ahead. Camp runs from 0900 in the morning to 1200 Pakistan Standard Time for five days per week. Around 55 young people, ages 16 to 18, are attending. The camp is meant for the upgrooming of deserving young Christians academically, spiritually and providing general activities to make them an active part of their community. A camp of this nature is very rare in our region."

"Last week I shared the word of God in a camp class from your book, "Not the Same Old, Done-it-before Youth Meetings". The participants really appreciated it and all of them were paying greetings to you. It is only because of the blessings of God and the encouragement of partners like you that it is possible for us to move ahead in this noble cause."

Robin and the people of Pakistan need our daily prayers as well as any encouragement you can share. Also, as youth workers, let's remind our own young people of what a privilege it is to be able to worship without feel of reprisal.

Please write to Timferguson@christianyouthgroup.org any message of support you can share with Robin. These messages will be included on this Prayer Page and Robin will be promptly notified of your message of hope.

Thank you for caring, for praying and for writing.

Robin: Will be praying; Tim, thanks for sharing!! Sharon Park

From our friend Ahsan in Pakistan ... Pray for Peace in this land

As regard the political situation, the war on terror had been becoming the never ending as the terrorists have been advancing to other parts of the country. 200 girls have been totally destroyed by the Talibans. The girls have been deprived of their schooling. There has been a dire need to create awareness among the youth and people all kinds to raise the voice peacefully to work for the peace and harmony in the country.

Judicial Crisis has been still another problem as the former president general Musharraf sacked the famous judges for taking people friendly verdicts. The movement to reinstate those judges have been in progress. The elected government has not been listening therefore, the judicial system remind still stand.

Economy is another problem that has been affecting people at large in the country. The prices raise on daily basis in the country and the life for the vulnerable groups of the society have become harder and harder.

The non state actors have been creating problems for Pakistan as they have been infiltrating to other countries. The most recent example is, Mumbai attacks in India by Pakistani non state actors.

The Christians are the most weaker groups of the society as they have been prejudiced and discriminated for the faith in Jesus. They are not given jobs, not been made the part of the mainstream of the country. As regards their religious freedom, they are free to worship and practice their lives as they want but the issues, they are discriminated socially, politically and economically.

I shall keep you up-dated.

In peace,

Ahsan

From our friends, the Blacks, missionaries in Nigeria ... Pray for Peace between the Muslims and Christians

Hi Everybody,

With the news about the violence in Jos, Nigeria we thought we should send a quick note to tell everybody that we are very safe right now in the capitol city, Abuja. Eric left Jos about 24 hours before the violence began and met Cindy and the kids that night in Abuja.

Unfortunately, our new van is still in Jos, since we didn't complete all of the paperwork. After safety has been assured, somebody will drive it from jos to abuja for us and it will be ours from there.

Thank you all and please continue to pray for peace between the Muslims and Christians in Nigeria.

Prayer Warriors Needed

Dearest Prayer Warriors, As most of you know I had a Vitrectomy on my left eye back in Feb. Since the surgery the eye is doing very well. Now they are looking to do the same surgery in my right eye (because im still blind in that eye). It's a complicated surgery but since my left eye took so well they are hopeful the right will do the same. It's in Gods hands. The surgery is scheduled for Tuesday so please keep me in prayers that all goes well and when it heals I will have my almost perfect vision again. Thank you in advance for all your thoughts and prayers. I love you all.

In Christ,
Dee

Dear Teddy,

Thank you so very much for your prayers and thoughts. Unfortunately I was not medically cleared for the surgery because my blood work results were a little off. So the surgery was postponed for now. However HE is the ultimate healer and I know when it comes time for the surgery HE will guide the Doctors hands and give me back the sight in that eye if that is HIS plan. Other than that, things are well. I moved 3 hours away from the church and youth group to come live with my family so im a little lonely but I have found a wonderful bible study group here. I still visit the church and youth group when I can though. I felt as if this is where HE wants me to be so in May I packed up and moved here. I am very family oriented so being around them all the time is such a blessing. And really all my friends and family have always been such a blessing to me. That's including my church family. I wouldn't be who or where I am today if it wasn't for the love and support from all of them. I have been richly blessed. Do you have a lot of family and friends? Well I know you have all of us from the CYG but I hope you have many friends and loved ones because aside from the LORD they are the most important thing in life. I have learned that. Well, I hope this letter finds you and finds you well in HIM. Abundant blessings to you always!!

In Christ,
Dee

Dear Diana,

Iam glad you are doing better and i want to assure you that am still praying for you.Jer29:11,all things work out for those that love the Lord, all will be well dear.Iam glad you have got another family - the bible study family plus the C.U.T.S family.I also have a family and many friends including you.I love you Diana and greetings to all.

Love,
Teddy.

Praise God Dee.

As I have said, praise God is more of a greeting but it means a lot to our lives. The word praise means a lot and when you add The Lord it means a lot. So this is my encouragement to you is. Am sorry I can only detecte how you feel .

I can't know how you feel because I have not been in that situation. However, God, who created you, knows and if you call on his name He would come in to your rescue. Doctors work is to treat and the Healer is one.

Matthew 7:7. There you will find your rescue. Jeremiah 33:3 should be your Emergency Call. Jeremiah 29:11 should be your future hope. Psalms 34:10 should be your hope in him who created the Universe. When you think of everything the Lord has done that's something minor to him but of course with us its huge. Just trust Him, He is always there for you.
