Fall Calendar of Events

• Sunday, September 7th - 2:00 PM Barbecue/Pool Party at the Durganas(If you need transportation or directions, call Tim, Linda or one of the youth leaders by Saturday, Sept. 6th.)


• Sunday, Sept. 14th - 6:00 PMPaint and Pizza We clean the youth room and then have pizza. We will also be redecorating the upstairs youth bulletin board in the Social Hall.


• Sunday, Sept. 21th - 7:00 PM Welcome Back Night featuring "Weee"... "Two Truths and a Lie" , "God is Greater than the King" skit... and more.


• Sunday, Sept. 28th - 7:00 PM A Night with Frank Tangredi ... Frank leads an open discussion on a topic to be chosen during our Welcome Back Night.


• Saturday, October 4th... Volunteers needed to operate our Prayer Walk for a gathering of adult youth group leaders. Four volunteers needed to monitor the prayer walk and to read story at the end of the walk. Event will be in Patchogue and volunteers needed between 1:00 and 3:00 PM.


• Sunday, October 5th - 9:30 AM Bible and Bagels
  Bring a Friend Night - 7:00 PM Since so many of our members went away to college this is an important night to help expand the group by introducing friends. A variety of interactive events will be held including Listomania and "The Jury Speaks".


• Sunday, October 12th - 7:00 PM Game Night ... led by youth leaders featuring "The Great Race".


• Sunday, October 19th - 7:00 PM (sharp) Movie Night... features "Facing the Giants", a full length movie about a losing football team which faces its losing tradition through faith. A true story. Discussion to follow. Note: due to the length of the movie, we will not have our usual "hang out" time at the beginning and will start the movie by 7:05 PM). Don't be late or you will miss the beginning of the movie!!


• Sunday, October 26th - 7:00 PM Halloween Costume Party features the 491 Rules and other games of the holiday.


• Saturday, November 1st - 11:00 AM Hope for the Future: New York City Soup Kitchen ... meet at church at 11:00 AM. Bring a bag lunch. We stop at Farmingdale warehouse then travel to the Lower Eastside of Manhatten to feed the homeless. Afterwards we return to Farminngdale to clean up and then go to a diner for dinner together. All events completed about 8:00 PM.


• Sunday, November 2nd - 9:30 AM Bible and Bagels
  Progressive Dinner - 5:30 PM... Five volunteer families have been identified to host the following: Appetizers, Soup, Salad, Main Course and Dessert. During the drive from house to house there will be questions about our topics for this youth year ... faith, hope and trust.


• Sunday, November 9th - 7:00 PM (sharp) Volleyball and Let’s Ask God... Volleyball and Let's Ask God with youth group from Abiding Presence Lutheran Church of Fort Salonga.


• Sunday, November 16th - 7:00 PM... We will take a hike at the Edgewood Preserve and then return to the youth room for a presentation on the need to work to preserve our environment on Long Island. Thee hike is tentatively set for 2:00 PM. There will be no Sunday night meeting on this date.


• Sunday, November 23rd - 7:00 PM Thanksgiving Dinner ... we thank evryone who has signed up to bring a dish and especially for those making the turkey. We not only eat ... we find ways to share all the things we are thankful for, particularly those things our youth group gives us.
