2018 News:

In December 2018 the Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported that 39,773 people in America lost their lives at the point of a gun. This is the highest annual total in twenty years! The problem is worsening.

WASHINGTON (AP) The Trump administration Tuesday banned bump stocks, the firearm attachments that allow semi-automatic weapons to fire like machine guns and were used during the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history. The regulation gives gun owners until late March to turn in or destroy the devices. After that, it will be illegal to possess them under the same federal laws that prohibit machine guns. March 7,2018

On March 6, 2018 the State of Washington joined the states of New Jersey and Massachusettes in banning bump sticks. Mr. President, you have stated on two occasions that you would do the same by means of an executive order. When will you act?

New ... On March 22, 2018 Congress included in its passed budget funds to "increase enforcement of federal background checks". What this means is unclear at present.

The budget also authorized funds for the Center for Disease Control to scientifically evaluate the frequency of assaults via gun usage and make any appropriate recommendations. More detail is needed.
