Bible Penpal Request: Are you interested?

Please meet Immaculate Nalubega of Kitala, Uganda. She writes: "Praise our lord Jesus Christ. I extend my humble regards to you. I am by name Nalubega immaculate. I am a 32 year old Ugandan citizen. I am a youth pastor in a growing church of 100 -50 people. I have a passion for evangelism and teaching the word of God. I wanted to join a bible penpals group but I didn't see a group of my age group. If you know of any person or group of people who whom love to be my bible penpals, kindly forward my email to them and let us discuss the word of God.

May God richly bless you and grant you more grace to serve him more in spirit and in truth. Amen."

Immaculate writes that she confessed to salvation in 1999 and was appointed youth pastor on January 12, 2014. Her favorite Bible verse is: Isaiah 48:17 ... "The holy God of Israel, the Lord who saves you says: "I am the Lord your God, the one who wants to teach you for your own good and direct you in the way you should go."

Immaculate is responsible for the youth. She writes, "Most of the youth in my church are either occupied in school or jobs. They make no time to social. I only get to see them on Sunday and we only get to share the word of God. They sit in church and listen to the word of God ministry."

Immaculate feels comfortable leading prayer meetings for the youth, something many youth leaders find to be difficult. The activity "Trust and Prayer" may be helpful.

Immaculate hopes her group will become active like other youth groups and hopes to increase her youth program from the fifteen or so youth currently coming. She has confidence that all will be fine in Jesus' name.

At a meeting in the beginning of August Immaculate's youth program "elected a youth cabinet. We are choosing youth in "positions of patron, chairperson, secretary, mobiliser, welfare, intercession, treasurer, events, and choir leader."

It appears that Immaculate has a good start on her youth program. We would share that having fifteen members in a youth group is actually a nice number. There are enough individuals with different skills to allow a varied program while not so many that youth leaders like Immaculate, to get to know everyone well. Our youth program in Deer Park New York met regularly for twenty years with groups that ranged between ten and twenty young people.

Immaculate wrote some wonderful responses on our Christian blog. A link to the blog can be found near the top of the home page . We particularly like her comment: "What makes life better than average is helping the needy the best way you can. Some people just need to know that they are not invisible. They need to know that somebody sees their pain and cares about them. Having someone smile because you cared makes life better than average." This is a wonderful goal we should all set for ourselves: care enough to make someone smile - absolutely a "Better than Average Day".

Ideas of activities for youth are things Immaculate seeks and there are many presented in this website. However, a Christian friend with whom she can correspond with, get to know and discuss joys and trials with is what she truly seeks , a Bible penpal , so to speak. Are you interested?

Immaculate is a wonderful young lady from Uganda, who we are sure has much to share. Let us know if you are interested and we will connect you with Immaculate. Share your interest by writing to me at: TimFerguson@Christianyouthgroup.org

Update Received from Immaculate:

We are preparing for the church's thanksgiving day on 17th September 2017. As youth, we are rehearsing 2 thanksgiving songs to present in church. We met on Tuesday and we learned the choruses. The songs are in our local language called Luganda.

I am happy that the youth are zealous to serve God. I just need to come up with activities for them to do so as not to put out that holy spirit fire in them.

We now meet on Tuesdays from 6pm until 8:30pm. Both the students and workers can make it to the youth fellowship if they want to and not so tired.

We hope and pray that more youth in church will join our fellowship and we serve God when we are still youthful. With God we believe that everything is achievable. We will take one step at a time.

Thank you so much Tim for helping me find a Bible Penpal and offering us good uplifting articles to read on your website.

Keep it up. God will bless you more.
